I don't think I've ever done this much laundry in one week.
Five days till the big move. Well, since it's in the wee hours of tomorrow already, I guess you could say four.
Last night I went to the Square to drink up the scenery (and some good Jupiter House coffee) before I left. I met up with two very interesting individuals and had a great conversation for a large portion of the night. I also made a few last-minute purchases at Recycled Books: Letters to a Young Artist and Ghosts & Vampires in New Orleans, plus a Recycled Books hoodie that I have wanted for years so that I may remember the best used bookstore in the world whilst I am gone. (And how many of them are painted purple and reside in an old opera house?)
Then, I headed over to Bryan and Kevin's apartment with Travis. Kevin was asleep, but Jared, Jeremy, and a guy named John whom I have met on a couple of occasions were there. We had nice time just hanging out.
Apparently, tomorrow we're having a going away party at our friend Evan's house. That should be fun, and kind of sad I guess, too.
Well, I may head over to Big Mike's Coffee Shop, a relatively new coffee shop in Denton that is supposedly open 24 hours. As it is now four in the morning, I don't seem to have much else to do, and now is a good time to investigate this supposed 24 hours thing.
Guess that's it for the time being. <3

Lightbulb
So, I got a new idea for a script today, which made me ridiculously euphoric, because I haven't gotten such a good, solid idea like that since I got the idea for my screenplay Half Empty. I think I need to let it incubate for awhile, but I'll start work on it VERY soon. YAY!
Travis and I are moving on Monday the 25th. Kind of super duper crazy. I'll miss Denton a lot; it's my home, and after having seen other places, I know that it's really and truly a unique, amazing town with one of the best arts communities for a place its size, especially in flippin' Texas. But hey, onward and upward, right?
I watched Juno yesterday for the third time. I LOVE THAT MOVIE.
I also really love coffee. Probably more than I love Juno.

Songs that make me happy inside.
I am FINALLY looking up all of those songs I've heard on the radio/at karaoke/on someone else's iPod/etc. and LOVED but did not know, much less own... and I'm downloading them and making badass playlists. (As if no one else on the planet does this... sorry, but I rarely if ever make time to pursue music, so this is a triumph. Sad, I know.) Special kudos to dirpy.com, which converts YouTube videos into mp3s.

Goodbye, 2009
For some reason, the fact that 2010 starts at midnight tonight really isn't a huge deal to me.
But, let's take a look at an overview of my year for shits and giggles.
+ Grayson County College from January till May. Ugh. I spent more time sleeping in my dorm room than doing anything else. I was so depressed. I just wanted to go back home, and was only happy when I got to come home on the weekends.
+ Hung out at the Highland Bordello every day after the semester ended, until 8 a.m. on June 2nd, which is the moment that, after having spent a few days cleaning it out, and all night that night, we left the empty house. The Goodbye Bordello Party, held on May 15th, was the party of the decade, and that's when I met John Chambers and James Palmer.
+ Lysistrata, DCT Road Show, and hanging out with Travis marked my summer. John Chambers came to visit a couple of times, and that was major fun.
+ I turned 19 on August 22nd.
+ Plaza Suite and school at North Central Texas College (Corinth campus) start up, August/September. In Plaza Suite, I spent an hour every night of getting dolled up in a wedding dress and gorgeous hair and makeup for one line at the end of the show. Oh well, it was a blast.
+ Talking of Michelangelo and more school for September/October. Worked at Costume & Dance World, then got fired after two weeks by the douchebag owner (not just my opinion; many people warned me when I started there). Talking of Michelangelo was hands down my favorite show of the year. Best. Cast. Ever.
+ Travis left for Shreveport at the beginning of November, and was there the entire month for Cameraman filming. I started on the nightmare project of The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents A Bur-les-Q Nutcracker. I was pretty unhappy much of this month, but hanging out with friends kept me afloat.
+ Travis came back end of November, and we decide to move. School ended at the beginning of December, and I made horrible grades, but I don't care: I'm not going back for awhile. Bur-les-Q Nutcracker drove me insane for all FIVE weekends of the run, until I collected my paycheck on December 27th. I had a great Christmas, though.
And now I'm here. Since I am moving to a relatively new location, I have no idea what's in store for me in 2010, but I hope it'll be a wonderful experience. :-)

Slap Chop... Hip Hop???
Oh. My. God.
Has anyone seen the Slap Chop commercial where Vince goes hip hop on us? I mean, this is REALLY on TV!
And maybe this has been on the air for awhile, but I don't watch a huge amount of TV, so I'm just now catching this.
I'm watching the VH1 Top 40 Music Videos of '09, and I haven't gotten to number 1 yet, but I vote for the Slap Chop commercial.
EDIT:
So, like, I guess I can't argue with "Poker Face" being number 1. I love Lady Gaga way more than I care to admit to my friends and family. (How can you not!?!?)

Blah.
I know, I know. Nobody even reads this. But if I keep (trying to) blog, maybe I'll come up with something interesting? I occasionally have something good to say.
I guess the most exciting thing that's happened lately is that Travis went to Shreveport and got a job as script supervisor for a low-budget film called "Cameraman," which started out directed by Emmy-winner Pruitt Taylor Vince, but the tyrannical writer-producer David Cole fired him. So, Robert Foster, the DP, became the director. Anyway, it's apparently going to be a terrible movie, but a nice paycheck and great networking experience for Travis. He got to work with Pruitt and some other great people. He already has another job lined up in January, with more to come, and we both may (not set in stone, though) be signed by an agent. Needless to say, we'll probably be moving out there.
Here's to breaking into the business!

Funniest. Site. Ever.
www.peopleofwalmart.com
Hilarious. However, do not go if you are easily offended. I was very surprised at how many people sent hate mail to this site, especially since it's only been up for about a month and a half. But, hey, I'm already going to hell anyway, so what do I know about what's offensive?

I've been a bad girl...
...by not updating. At all. Here's the important things going on in my life now:
- School. At NCTC, not UNT like I said last semester. Don't ask. Well... okay, it's because my GPA wasn't quite high enough, and then I deliberated for awhile about taking a semester off. But hey, I'm much more comfortable here than I was my first semester.
- Rehearsals for a play entitled "Talking of Michelangelo" which was written and is being directed by my friend Joshua Scott Hancock. It's going alright. We open in two weeks.
- Working seasonally at Costume & Dance World, the costume shop in the local mall. I enjoy the job... somewhat. My boss, though, is not exactly the friendliest person in the world. I'll leave it at that. Thank goodness it's only temporary.
- Travis and I are still together and in love and all that gooey shit (Our 1 year anniversary is on the 30th!). No complaints there. :-)
Aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnd scene.

Workin' On It
Don't have much time for a long entry, but just a quick check-in.
So far, I'm doing pretty good with the fashion thing. I've put together a couple of super cute outfits already, and I'm planning to work my way up from cute to hot to downright ahead of the times. I hope. And always keeping it grounded somewhat in a counter-culture style (punk/rock/goth, hippie, grunge, etc.).
I really hope I can get to work on my short film, Half Empty, really soon...
Ugh, have to be up in a few hours to do our first performance of this summer's Road Show... yuck. Performing story theatre for little children at 9 a.m. Not cool. (Thank jebus for the $$$.)

Fashion Forward
Omfg. I. Love. Fashion.
Not a new realization, but I will go months and months wearing jeans and t-shirts and no makeup, all because I just don't have time or energy to even think about looking good day to day. And then... lo and behold... I will stumble upon (sort of literally - on Firefox's Stumble Upon app) fashion photos and design blogs and what have you... and it makes me squeal and bounce up and down with a mixture of joy and frustration - I LOVE fashion, but I NEVER do ANYTHING to follow that love.
I don't dress how I want. I don't draw fashion designs. I don't take photos.
I'm so boring and lazy.
New resolution: I will make more of an effort to look how I want. I will wear makeup (almost) every day - at least some eyeliner and concealer. I will do laundry more often to ensure I have a nice selection of clothes to wear. I will remember to accessorize well with every outfit. I will be more fashion-minded, and my clothing, drawings and photographs will reflect this.
I feel better now.
(And if anyone gives a flying fuck, sorry I've all but abandoned this blog. I'll try to do better on that, too.)
